So for my birthday my lovely GF got me a Hoya ND400. This is something that I have wanted to experiment with for a long time and am really looking forward to trying this out. Can anyone give me some idea of how long of an exposure I will be taking during a sunrise or sunset at around ISO 100 f/16?

As some of you may know, the Canon 5DM2 has Live View which enables the photographers to see what his lens sees on the LCD on the back of the camera similar to a digital point and shoot. This is probably the most important feature this camera has! This feature allows you to actually zoom in, not on the lens, but digitally through the LCD and manually focus on your hyperfocal point. It is AMAZING! This is probably going to be the biggest advantage this camera has to offer as far as producing high quality photographs. I very rarely manually focused through the viewfinder with my previous cameras for 2 reasons. 1: I have poor eyesight and struggled to actually see the fine detail in the viewfinder even after setting the adjustments to it for my eye specification and 2: Often my photos are so close to the ground that it would be EXTREMELY akward to try and focus while laying on the ground. But this new live view focusing solves all these problems! Its AMAZING!

Awesome present man, been looking to get myself one as well after having, and using the ND1000 for my 58mm lenses (I now have a wide angle and need the ND400 for my 72mm).

Look forward to seeing your results!
